Drugs and Substance
The offence of Double Doctoring is found in s. 4 of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.  Essentially it is the offence of going to 2 doctors to fill the same prescription.  In addition, there are many cases where the accused will forge false prescriptions on prescription pad paper that has been stolen from a doctor’s office.  This offence carries serious consequences including a possibility of jail.  Addiction is often a contributing factor and can be used in some cases as mitigating on sentence.  Taking steps to deal with addiction problems is looked upon favourably by the courts.
